Bayern Munich vs Arsenal: Champions League Preview, Team News & Where to Follow the Allianz Arena Clash

Bayern Munich host Arsenal at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday 21 October, with kick-off at 21:00 CAT (20:00 UK time), in Game Week 3 of the Champions League league phase. Arsenal arrive 7th on 6 points after two wins from two, while Bayern are 10th on 4 points, so there is plenty at stake for both sides.

Form guide: Bayern beat RB Leipzig 6-1 in the Bundesliga, with Luis Díaz scoring a hat-trick, and earlier beat Union Berlin 7-0, but they were held to a 3-3 draw by Viking in the Champions League. Arsenal won 1-0 at Nottingham Forest, with Noni Madueke scoring the winner, and beat Lille 3-0 in the Champions League, though they lost 3-0 at Brighton in the Premier League. The Gunners have kept six clean sheets in their last eight Champions League matches.

Team news: Bayern are without the suspended Michael Olise, who was sent off against Viking, and Jamal Musiala is out with a thigh problem. Kim Min-jae is a doubt after going off injured against Leipzig, and reports differ on whether Manuel Neuer is fit to return in goal. Arsenal have William Saliba, Piero Hincapié and Christos Tzolis out, while Martín Zubimendi is back from injury. Check the confirmed line-ups an hour before kick-off.

Head-to-head: Arsenal won the most recent meeting 3-1 in the Champions League in November 2025. Before that, Bayern won 1-0 in Munich in April 2024 after the sides drew 2-2 at the Emirates in the first leg of that quarter-final.

Key battle: Harry Kane has scored in nine consecutive Champions League games for Bayern and has 15 career goals against Arsenal, but he faces the Premier League side's meanest defence in Europe. At the other end, Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice will look to exploit a Bayern side missing Olise and Musiala.
