<strong>Gary Ballance ruled out through illness as Zimbabwe struggle on day 1 of second Test</strong>

BULAWAYO – Gary Ballance will sit out Zimbabwe’s second Test match against the West Indies which got underway this Sunday at Queens Sports Club due to a migraine headache.

The former England batter, who scored a debut century in the first drawn game, has been feeling unwell for the past few days and could not fully recover in time to play this time round.

The 33-year-old Ballance became the first player to score a Test century for two different countries after Kepler Wessels did so for Australia and South Africa.

Zimbabwe were bowled out for 115 runs batting first in the first innings, with West Indies left-arm spinner Dudakesh Motie taking a career best 4-37.

Innocent Kaia had Zimbabwe’s top score with 38.
