Kelvin Kaindu has been re-appointed as new head coach at Zimbabwean side Highlanders FC.

46-year-old Kaindu has returned to Highlanders nine years after leaving the club having taken charge of the team from 2012 to 2014.

The club took to social media to confirm the development.

“Highlanders Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Kelvin Kaindu as the new head coach for the club’s first team.

Kaindu is not new to the club, having previously played for highlanders in 1997 before he was entrusted with the Bosso dugout between 2012 and 2014.”

The management of the club has wished the Zambian gaffer the best of luck as he takes up the top job.

“The entire management at the club would like to extend a warm welcome to Kaindu and wish him all the best as he opens yet another chapter with Highlanders Football Club.”

He replaces Brazilian Brito Baltemar who has left the club to take charge of the Zimbabwe national team.

Kaindu has been club-less in the last eight months after being let go by the Bankers, Zanaco back in April.

In Zambia Kaindu coached Nkana, their bitter rivals Power Dynamos between 2018 and 2019 after returning to Zambia, and Buildcon.

In Zimbabwe – he coached Highlanders, Triangle, and How Mine clubs.
